CaMMEA Group
The British Museum has collected contemporary art from the Middle East since the 1980s.
Thanks to the support of the Contemporary and Modern Middle Eastern Art Acquisitions Group (CaMMEA), the Museum now has a growing collection representing more than 200 established and emerging artists from across the region.
The support of these individuals allows the Museum to respond quickly to the contemporary art market, to be strategic in its collecting policy, and to place these works in the context of the Museum's existing Middle Eastern collections.

Vollard Group
Established in 2012, alongside the acquisition and exhibition of a complete set of Picasso's Vollard Suite, the group takes its name from Ambroise Vollard (1866 – 1939). The greatest avant-garde Paris art dealer and print publisher of his day, he gave Picasso his first Paris exhibition in 1901.
The support of the Vollard Group helps to ensure that the collection remains a living and relevant resource able to make strategic and bold acquisitions.
